Egypt's past, what about the present..

As it seems in the past that the middle east which was once a land of power, faith and fantasy is now a place of hatred, suffering and turmoil. Dating all the way back to the time of Judah, Joseph, Issac and Moses Egypt has had its fair turns of ups and downs.

In the Book of Exodus we learn that the Egyptians were tried and tested by the will of the all mighty God. The bible tells us through scripture that the lord made the pharaohs heart hard so god could keep the promises made between Abraham, and Issac and Joseph to deliver the Hebrews from bondage as long as the Hebrews trusted and followed the word of god. Through disastrous plagues the power and mighty hand of god was presented through Both Moses and Aaron time and time again. To no avail did the pharaoh release the Hebrews from slavery until the night the lord had gone through all the land of Egypt and took all the first born that the stubbornness of the pharaoh was lifted and the people set free.

But even after the Pharaoh released the Hebrews were the Egyptians not silenced until the were cast into the red sea and all for the Egyptian Army who followed moses through the parted water was lost.

Fast forward a couple thousand years and we are brought to World War 1, a time when the world was in complete and total chaos, where governments were at war with ancient allies where new alliances would soon be tested and old governments ripped apart by destruction and famine. This would be a important time in history due to the fact that from the Orient and all throughout Europe Despotism would start to take shape and for many countries those same despots would lead them into a 2nd world war 30 years later.

At the beginning of World War 1 Britain took control of Egypt from the Ottomans, even though the British had strong presence in Egypt since the late 1800's. By the end of the war in about 1919 almost all levels of the Egyptian culture found it clear that the hold the British had on there once prosperous and grand society was needing to come to a abrupt end. As tensions were high a young Egyptian politician was arrested and deported which would send Egypt into a war zone of demonstration and strike.

Fast forward almost a century and you find the Egyptians and there way of life being threatened thru activist, protesters, demonstrators and the like. Whatever name you chose to call them it almost seems like the general make-up of society has turned to violence in the streets. At night news stations local and national play footage of firefights that look like, a fireworks display on the 4th of July. But we know that the latter is not the case. Grenades and Molotov cocktails are the incendiary weapon of choice for the protesters.

In the day time they show the faces of some of the activist, to the surprise of most these aren't your average demonstrators. Some of these are families, some of these are students, and some of these are Professionals. Whether they be doctors, lawyers, religious secularists, politicians, teachers or the General public the will of the nation is making there voice heard for the correct reasons but by the wrong means.

Affective change doesn't happen through force, or fear it is done through the effectiveness of majority rule. The Civil rights movement wasn't successful because of the Watts Riots in the mid 1960's, it didn't happen by way of the black panthers which was made up of some who would have called for change thru violence, change thru intimidation, change thru the Chicago way, the type of change the Malcom X called for. The correct ideology came from Jesus, came from Gandhi, came from Martin Luther King Jr. Thru these different men, thru these different ages one common thought brought them to the brink of making effective change, not thru violence. But through peace.

Jesus is the king of kings, making his way through all of Judea and Samaria preaching the professed word of the lord, Teaching love, preaching peace even if harm is brought down upon your soul. The lord states if a man shall strike you in the cheek gladly hand him your other cheek, If a man sues you and takes your tunic, give him your cloak as well. Mathew 5:39. Peace brings change that matters.

Its not to say that the Egyptians of today don't have the right to protest. There are standing up for what they believe in, they are standing up against a oppressive ruler who by way of intimidation and politicking stayed in office for close to 30 years. In some parts of the world that scenario would lead many to believe that a dictator was head of state in that country. They are calling for the President of Egypt to step down, instead of coming together and standing against there government side by side and vowing to take up arms at the ballot most have been reduced to vandalism and treachery.

Could this ever happen in America in the 21st century, would this ever happen if we didn't have safe guards in place to protect our citizens from oppression and demagogic rule. Is the Constitution the only thing that holds our society together is it the only reason we thru peaceful protest and democratic ingenuity get things done. Is it because we as American's Do Big Things....

Hong Kong vs USA. Economic freedom Index

The Big Government Blunder.

Do the states know what is better for there future than the federal Government?

Why does it seem like the Federal Government has there foot on the gas pedal while the states are throwing the car in park while trying to smother the fire under the hood?

As it seems that while reading the news for the past couple of weeks, for some odd and unclear reason the states which in most cases are in worse condition fiscally than that of the federal Government are starting to transition most of the burden from the state level down to the local level. Why am i getting the feeling that the both the "Old School"Establishment Democratic and Republican still believe that the only way that we are going to get our selves out of this mess is by spending more, taxing more and inflating the size of the government. How are they doing this? By transitioning all liabilities from the state level on to the federal level.

Why would they be doing this? Do the states have a better chance of fixing this problem than the fat cat bureaucrats in Washington? Is Washington so out of the touch with there roots i.e there constituents back home, the same constituents that they are supposed to be representing while they are in congress? Have they worried more about what there colleagues think of them than there constituents. Has Log-rolling gone to far.

Ask yourself who is more in touch with there community. Your county supervisor or your Federal senator. Who is looking out for your best interest regardless of political party of philosophical faction. Were the founders correct when stating the two political parties were in fact meant to keep each other in check, not argue over every problem that is granted to them by the constitution. The left wing is the wing of compassion, the side of the political spectrum which decides what problems socially that are country faces. The Right Wing is the Conservation wing, the wing that makes sure that the left wing doesn't spend to much, that everything is paid for, that the left wing doesn't get bloated by spending. That the left wing doesn't have a unlimited reserve behind there checkbook. As we have seen in the past when the right wing isn't kept in check they tend to go on with business but forget about social aspects of life that arise, but in that case wouldn't that leave it to a lesser power to take it upon themselves to fix the problem wouldn't it be up to the "STATES".

Don't the states have different problems and different aspirations. Does California have the same social problems as Texas, or does Florida have the same problems fiscally as Ohio. If they do not which for some reason i believe California has different problems fiscally and socially than Ohio. I could be wrong but i believe there are some differences.

Getting back on track with my first point, Why would the Federal government continue to take on more and more if what they have on there plate is all ready emitting a disgusting odor, that would make most people throw it away and start over from scratch?

What are they trying to do, is it the new world order, the shadow government that dare I say might be right around the corner if we don't stop it. Never let a good tragedy go to waste, let it implode let it fall into a system that we have been working on for decades.

But where do we start not on the federal level people but on the local level. Bottom up, inside out. Where do we go from here, Where does it end up and what have we created by our ignorance to the idea that big government is the key.

Look forward to my next post on the similarities between welfare and seagulls..........
